Makeup Organization

I love Home Goods. I'm always finding pretty home decor and organizational stuff and you can't beat their prices. (I sound like a Home Goods commercial but it really is a great store!)

This find comes from their desk/office section. It's meant for organizing a desk drawer and has compartments for scissors, tapes, paper clips etc. It has a sliding tray on top for more storage but you can still get easy access to the compartments below. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect to organize makeup.

I'm disappointed it's just a tiny bit too long to fit into the drawers where I do my makeup. However, I might move it to another drawer because it's just too perfect not to use. At $7.99,  I'm going to pick up another one or two organizers. I like the idea of having an eye drawer, lip drawer, face drawer...

How do you organize your makeup? I'd love to know!

Ombre Nails

My boyfriend and I celebrated our third year anniversary earlier this month. He somewhat surprised me (he's kinda bad at keeping surprises secret) with a beautiful ring. It fades from red rubies to hot pink, light pink, and white sapphires. I love my ombre ring, which inspired me to create an ombre nail look.

This look fades from a hot pink/red color on my thumb to a light baby pink on my pinkie finger. This ombre look is great if you tend to purchase a lot of the same colors. I can't wait to try this look my purple and blue nail polishes.

Sorry about the poor paint job. I totally lost track of time and was running late for a movie (we saw 30 Minutes or Less) so some nails got a little smudged.

Bowtastic!

I am addicted to bows. While shopping for fabric, I found this adorable bow-printed fabric. I added it to my cart immediately- I had to have it for my Etsy shop.

(Oh, and did I mention I am also a fabric addict? I probably get it from my mom who has a walk in closet not for clothes, but for fabric!)

A bow printed makeup bag wouldn't be complete without an actual bow, right?
$12 in my Etsy shop, PinkGlitterBoutique.

As soon as I have some extra spending money, I'm planning on purchasing some of these bow favorites from other Etsy sellers.

I adore this shop, so I had to share two of my favorites. This shop has so many beautiful and fun accessories from handbags to infinity scarfs to large crocheted flower pins. I love how you can place your hand through the bow to hold onto this lacy clutch (above, $48). This pink bow capelet (below, $32) is so sweet and delicate! Would look perfect with a little black dress. Both by Mojospastyle.

I love dainty necklaces and what's really neat about this necklace is the artist ties each bow in satin ribbon and casts it into solid Sterling Silver. This pendant is shown in oxidized silver to bring out the gorgeous details. Bow necklaces currently in her Etsy shop, WhiteFly, range from $75-115.

Sequins + bow. Enough said.
Headband is $33 from Etsy shop, No144.

What are some of your favorite bow items?

Zoya Haul

Recently, Zoya had an amazing "insider" promotion. Account holders received a code for 2 free polishes with any purchase. (Zoya has had some really great promotions for their account holders, which is free to sign up!) I needed a new base coat and more nail polish remover, so now seemed like the perfect opportunity to try Zoya nail polish.

Zoya's Remove + ($9.99 for 8oz) has a flip top/pump system similar to the remover bottles you see in salons. I love this idea because I usually ending up soaking the cotton balls/pads in wayyy too much remover.

The base coat is known as Anchor ($7.96) and the top coat is Armor. I love creative product names. Of course, the first thing I want in a product is quality but I can't help but be drawn to cute packaging and names.

I picked up two polishes (normally $8 each) from Zoya's new Smoke & Mirrors collection. The two colors are from the Smoke rich cream series. Mirrors series contain sparkle, shimmer & metallic polishes. Cynthia is described as a "smoky, blackened peacock teal." Jana is a "medium nude putty creme with grey, mauve and purple undertones." Beautiful colors for Fall/Winter. Swatches coming soon!

Oh, and check out the little "crate" Zoya polishes ship in. Adorable.

On My Wishlist

Here are a few things currently on my makeup shopping list:

I've heard so many good things about the beauty blender. It is a non-disposable (yay, eco-friendly!) sponge that you dampen with water and use to "stipple" on foundation. I'm pretty impatient when it come to stippling on foundation with my (smaller) foundation brush, so I'm hoping this works better.  This set comes with two blenders and a special cleanser for the sponges.
Find at Sephora for $39.95.

I'm in love with Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil liners, so when they came out with a 24/7 liquid liner I knew I had to try it. I currently own Perversion (carbon black) and love it. The formula is pigmented and lasts all day. In fact, I needed to pick up waterproof makeup remover wipes because this liner doesn't budge or flake! Going to pick up Woodstock (hot pink with iridescent sparkle) to add a fun, pop of color on my lids.
Find at UrbanDecay for $18 each.

Not that I neeeed another nail polish to add to my collection, but I don't have a navy blue. Plus, Butter London is 3 Free, which means they are DPB, Toulene, and Formaldehyde free. Isn't this color awesome for Fall/Winter? See how easily I convince myself to purchase another nail polish?
Find at Ulta for $14 each.

July Favorites

I can't believe July and summer in general is almost over. It makes me sad because summer is my favorite season. Here's the run-down of some of my favorite products in the month of July.

Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleaning Mud Mask

This mask has an orangey scent and leaves your skin feeling smooth and really clean. I use it 1-2 times a week (directions say 1-3x per week). Plus, at $5.99, it's affordable too!

Where to Buy: Ulta
Cost: $5.99 for 3.4 fl oz.

Benefit They're Real Mascara

This mascara gives your lashes amazing length. Enough said.

Where to Buy: Benefit, Ulta, Sephora
Cost: $22

Urban Decay High Gloss Lip Color

These lip colors come in 5 fabulous shades. I own two: Crush (a bright pink) & Punch Drunk (an orange, slight red). These are like a lipstick and lipgloss rolled into one. They have the pigmentation and feel of lipstick and (subtle) shine like a lipgloss. Unlike other lipsticks and glosses that eventually disappear, these lip colors leave a stain of color on your lips. Now I can only speak for the two shades I own, but the positive experience I had with these two makes me want to pick up the other colors. F-Bomb (a bright red) is on my wish list. Swatches here.

Where to Buy: Exclusively Sephora
Cost: $19 for 0.10 oz

Butter by London P.D. Quick Top Coat

While this topcoat may be on the pricier side, I love how quick it dries (P.D. Quick= pretty darn quick!) and how it leaves your nails shiny. I can't really comment chip prevention because I haven't been using a base coat. I've been meaning to pick one up every time I go to Ulta but keep forgetting.

Where to Buy: Ulta
Cost: Top Coat $18 for 17.5 ml / 0.6 fl oz
